ABOUT CASA-Weld_County

What is CASA Volunteer?
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Weld County is a program which trains volunteers to intervene on behalf of abused and neglected children.  The court system can be a confusing and frightening experience for abused and neglected children.  Often children feel that their voices are lost.

CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court.  This means that, despite the circumstances that bring them into court, CASA’s work diligently to figure out where children should be permanently.  This could mean they go back to live with their parents once their parents learn how to provide them with safe, loving homes.  Permanent placement could also mean living with a relative, or being adopted into another family.

Who are CASA Volunteers?
CASA’s are ordinary people with extraordinary hearts for children ranging in age from 21 to 85.  It takes just one adult to make a difference in the life of a child.  Our vision is for every child to be able to say “my life is better because a stranger cared.”
